Product description

ORIcontrol Orius to control thrips, spider mites and moth eggs

Orius laevigatus

The product ORIcontrol contains predatory bugs of the species Orius. This predatory bug is a proven thrips repellent. Especially in pollen containing vegetable crops Orius can develop strongly. Besides thrips (both adult and larvae) the predatory bug also has spider mites and moth eggs on the menu. An Orius female deposits 1 to 3 eggs a day on leaf or stem parts. After about 5 days an Orius nymph will emerge from the egg. The yellow-brown Orius nymphs have characteristic red eyes. They cannot fly yet and have to find their food on foot. Orius are mainly found in the flowers and on the leaves of the plant. The total development from egg to adult will take about 3 weeks at 25 ° C, at low temperatures this will be longer. The brown-colored adult predatory bugs have fully developed wings which makes them very mobile.

In various vegetable crops, such as sweet pepper and aubergine, Orius has been successfully used for years to combat thrips. Also in ornamentals, where thrips is difficult to control, this predatory bug is used more and more.

Product charactersistics Orius
• Directly deployable
• Can be used both preventively and curatively
• Clean and easy to use with the intro box

Packing Orius
ORIcontrol L (Orius laevigatus) is supplied in bottles of 250 ml, with buckwheat hulls as carrier. The buckwheat hulls ensure optimal moisture management during transport and storage of the predatory bugs. ORIcontrol L is available in packs of 500, 1,000 or 2,000 adults. In addition, a packaging with 2,000 nymphs is available.

Besides ORIcontrol L we also have MAJUScontrol (Orius majusculus) available in 250 ml bottles. MAJUScontrol is available in a packaging of 500 specimens. Orius laevigatus and Orius majusculus differ in body size and habitat on the plant. Orius majusculus is found more on the leaves and Orius laevigatus more in the flowers of the plant. So there are different possibilities for different crops.

Quality control
