Product description

MONcontrol (sachet) to control thrips and white fly

Transeius montdorensis
MONcontrol contains the predatory mite Transeius montdorensis of the family Phytoseiidae. This active predatory mite offers a good control of the whitefly, trips and broad mites . Besides this broad diet it also feeds on pollen and is therefore able to settle in many crops. Female adult mites lay eggs on leaf hairs. After 1-2 days, these eggs hatch into larvae. After this there are 2 nymphal stages until the adult stage is reached. From the first nymph stage they are predatory. At 25°C, the cycle from egg to adult last for less than 7 days. For the control of trips, this predatory mite has the advantage compared to Amblyseius cucumeris that they also eat  the second larval stage of the Thrips. T. montdorensis is in comparison to other predatory mites, good resistant against high temperatures and dry conditions. They are also active in the winter at lower temperatures and shorter day light. Amblyseius montdorenis does not undergo a diapause during winter.

Product characteristics
• Eats thrips and white fly
• Eats in addition to the first, also the second larval stage of the thrips.
• Resistant to high temperatures and drier conditions.
• Also active in low light (winter)
• Faster population build up than A. cucumeris and A. swirksi

Quality control
At Royal Brinkman, a team of specialists checks the quality of beneficial insects, mites and nematodes. Based on a protocol they work to deliver the best quality to the customers.

Packaging
MONcontrol is supplied per 250 sachets (each sachet has an minimum outcome of 250 predatory mites). The contents of the sachets consist of several stages of the Montdorensis predatory mites, feeder mites and a carrier of bran. The special formulation of the sachet ensures within several weeks the correct amount of mites are introduced in the crop. The sachets contain a hook, which makes it easier to introduce the mites in the crop. in the grow bag there is a hole on both sides, so the predatory mites can get out immediately.

MONcontrol is also available as 250 TURBO sachets (With a minimum outcome of 250 predatory mites per sachet). Due to this formulation the mites will be quicker introduced in the crop.

MONcontrol is also available as mini sachets without a hook (500 sachets with a minimal outcome of 250 predatory mites). This type of sachets can be chosen depending on the type of crop.  This provides a better distribution of mites trough the greenhouse.

Amblyseius montdorensis is also available as loose material in tubes of 25.000 (1 liter) and 250.000 (5 liter) predatory mites. A tube especially for the Chrysanthemum cultivation (5 liters), with an inset area of 1750m2. Due to the composition of the carrier material, the spreading can be done by hand, blowing or using the bio-spreader.

User instructions
Keep the product cool until use. Allow the product to warm up to (greenhouse) temperature. Prevent too rapid an increase in temperature, this can lead to a temperature shock for the predatory mites. Open the box with the bags in the crop. Tear the bags apart along the perforations. Spread the culture bags as well as possible over the crop. Hang the bags in a place sheltered from the sun. Avoid contact with heating pipes and CO2 piping. The degree of application always depends on the pest pressure in the crop, therefore ask the product specialist for the correct dosage.
