PHYTOcontrol (concentrate) to control spider mites

Phytoseilus persimilis
PHYTOcontrol contains the predatory mite Phytoseiulus persimilis. This predatory mite has long been successfully used in many crops to control spider mites.  The Phytoseiulus predatory mite is blind and will find its prey on the basis of smell and touch. Phytoseiulus is spread on the leaves. After application, the predatory mites immediately start looking for the spider mites.  The diet of Phytoseiulus consists exclusively of spider mites, in the absence of which the predatory mite will eat its congeners. An adult Phytoseiulus can eat about 5 adult spider mites or 20 eggs or larvae daily. PHYTOcontrol contains about 4 times as many females than males. A fertilized female will lay her eggs in or near a spider mite colony. Under good conditions the population of the predatory mite grows faster than that of the spider mite. At temperatures between 15-30°C the predatory mites will feel most comfortable and fight spider mites most actively.

Packaging
Especially for ornamental plant cultivation, the concentrates have been developed with a finer vermiculite, so that it remains better on the leaf. After all, spreading losses are at the expense of yield! Concentrates are available in 150 ml bottles and can contain 1,000, 1,500 or 2,000 predatory mites.

PHYTOcontrol is also available as 2,000 predatory mites in 250 and 500 ml bottles with vermiculite as carrier.

Instructions for use
Keep product cool until use. When using, replace the red ventilating cap for the black flip cap. Allow the product to cool down to (greenhouse) temperature. Prevent too rapid an increase in temperature, this can lead to a temperature shock for the predatory mites. Keep the product horizontal and out of direct sunlight. Mix the product well immediately before use. This can be done by gently rotating the bottle. This will ensure a good distribution of mites in the material and in your crop. Attach the bottle to the spray boom. The degree of application always depends on the pest pressure in the crop, so ask the product specialist for the correct dosage.

Storage and transport
Upon receipt, check the product for discrepancies and report any complaints or comments within 24 hours. Preferably use the product immediately. If storage is required, the product should be stored horizontally and in a dark place at a temperature of 8-10°C for a maximum of 24 hours. If the product is stored longer and/or under different conditions Royal Brinkman is not liable for loss of quality.
